Sheryl Tatum
is starting her 5th year as the Head of School at OVCA. She has 17 years of experience in brick and mortar and online education. Sheryl began her career as a classroom teacher and has served as a Gifted Resource Coordinator, Principal and Academic Director. She earned her BS in elementary education from Eastern New Mexico University in 1996, and her master's degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Phoenix in 2000. In 2003, Sheryl obtained National Board Certification.

Audra Plummer is the Deputy Head of Schools. She has been with OVCA since 2009. Before becoming the Deputy Head of Schools, she served as OVCA Elementary Principal for 4 years.  Prior to working at OVCA, she taught in public schools for 14 years in the Norman Public Schools. She has received a Master's Degree in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum from the University of Oklahoma. In 2004, she earned National Board Teacher Certification. She gained her administration certification in 2003.

Celeste Claggett Picture
Celeste Claggett
is the Elementary Principal, working with students in Kindergarten – 5th grade. She joined OVCA in 2011 as an elementary teacher then moved to the lead teacher position in 2012. She's worked in education for 10 years and continues to focus on putting students first and helping them succeed. She attended the University of Oklahoma for elementary education and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in educational leadership.

is a Regional Engagement Principal serving students in grades K–12th. She has more than 20 years of educational experience in both private and public schools in Indiana and Oklahoma. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with majors in biology, chemistry and a minor in physical science from the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana and holds a Master's Degree in Curriculum Design and Development from Grand Canyon University.

received his Associate of Arts in History from the Oklahoma City Community College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Oklahoma, and a Master of Education degree in Instructional Leadership & Academic Curriculum from OU. He has 10 years of experience in education. Before becoming the High School Principal, he taught History and was a Learning Coach for seven years to his children attending OVCA.

Courtney Love
rejoined the staff of OVCA as the Operations Manager in October of 2013. She received her bachelors in early childhood education in 1999 from the University of Central Oklahoma. Courtney taught seven years as an elementary teacher in a brick and mortar school and taught two years with K12 for OKVA. She is pleased to be serving in this position and looks forward to what the future holds for our students and staff.

is the Federal Programs, English Learner, and Gifted & Talented Coordinator. She also supports parental training and involvement schoolwide. This is her 3rd year with OVCA and every year she continues to maintain a passion for watching students in the virtual setting succeed. Katherine graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2007 with her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She is Oklahoma State certified in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. She taught five years as an elementary teacher in a brick and mortar school and taught kindergarten two years with OVCA.

Kimberly Brown
joined OVCA in 2016 as Special Education Manager. Kimberly holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Oklahoma. While completing her Master of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Central Oklahoma, Kimberly achieved specialist-level certification in School Psychology.  She began her career in education as an elementary school teacher and practicing as a school psychologist since 2006.  As a school psychologist, Kimberly worked with children, youth, families, and educators to prevent and solve individual, school, and family-related problems. She believes all children and youth have a right accomplish meaningful goals and maximize their full potential.

Cady Looper
is a Regional Engagement Principal. The FAST program at OVCA empowers students to overcome challenges—be they academic, social, emotional, medical, or otherwise—to succeed in school and beyond. Cady graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2004 with a bachelors in Elementary Education. She joined OVCA in 2010 and taught elementary for 5 years before transitioning to lead the FAST team in 2015. This school year will be her 14th year in education and 8th year at OVCA. Cady lives in OKC with her husband and two little girls.

Heather Miles
is the School Data & Accountability Manager. She graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. In 2017, she graduated with Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. She has taught third and fourth grades in brick and mortar. For OVCA, she has served as a MS Language Arts teacher, MS PE teacher, and a MS lead teacher. She is certified in Elementary Education, Middle School English, and PE.

Jill Dry is the Learning Support Specialist. She received a bachelor's degree in Special Education in 2004 and a master's degree in Guidance & Counseling in 2005 from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Jill previously taught and served as a school counselor in a brick and mortar setting before arriving at OVCA. Jill spent three years as an OVCA high school counselor where her passion deepened for helping students identify personal avenues for educational success.  She is excited to work closely with our families and staff as we watch our students grow and achieve their goals.

Angie Foust
holds a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Newman University and a Master's degree in Instructional Design and Technology from Emporia State University. She has over 19 years of experience in education, having taught students ranging from grades 1–12 in three different states over the course of her career. She joined OVCA in 2009 as a teacher and moved into the high school principal position in 2011. Angie Foust transitioned into the Compliancy Coordinator position in January of 2015 and also serves as the Title IX Coordinator.

Karin Campbell
taught in a brick and mortar setting for four years in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Northeastern State University. She is also certified in Early Childhood Education. She has taught at OVCA for 5 school years. She will be the elementary lead teacher for Kindergarten through second grade this year. She lives in the Tulsa area with her husband, Ken, and two daughters, Courtney and Cassie. In her spare time she loves to spend time with her family, camping, and play board games.

graduated from the University of Kansas in 1990 with a degree in elementary education. Before joining OVCA, she taught in brick-and-mortar schools for 10 years in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Palm Desert, California. Julie lives in Edmond with her husband EJ, daughter Janie and son Jack. Amy Jaques is a 1996 Central Bible College graduate with a BA in Bible/General Studies. She has teaching certificates in Special Education and Elementary Education. She taught for four years in a brick-and-mortar school in Arizona, and for one year at Arizona Virtual Academy before moving to Oklahoma. This is her 7th year teaching for OVCA. She is a Special Education Teacher who works with K–5th grade students. She lives in Edmond with her husband, Wes, and 5 children…Kelly, Chason, Ridge, Fallon and Abbi. In her spare time she loves to paint, go to concerts, and play board games.

Tara Vallandingham is beginning her 4th year with OVCA. She is super excited to be in 2nd grade again this school year. Beth Davis has a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University. She taught for 4 years in California, before taking a break from her career to raise her 5 children. She is a 5th grade teacher with Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy. She believes that every student can succeed if given the opportunity to approach learning the way that is best for them. She has been with OVCA for five years. She lives in Claremore, OK with her husband Terry. She has been married for 28 years. She enjoys family history research, travel, reading, and spending time with her family, especially her 1 year old grandson Axel.

 is a Northeastern State University graduate with a bachelor's degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and a minor in Psychology. Lori North
is a 2010 East Central University graduate. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education as well as certifications in Elementary Education and Special Education. She has been married for almost 12 years and has two amazing children. Lori taught 4th and 5th grade Special Education at Okemah Upper Elementary for two years. After that, she decided to take some time to stay home with her children. She began working for OVCA in October 2015 teaching 4th grade.

graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University with a degree in Early Childhood education. She also has a minor in psychology. Kayla has worked with children of all ages! She has been married 10 years and has 3 beautiful children. Twin boys who are 9 and a daughter who is 3! Kayla is going back to school to get her masters in Literacy starting in August. This is her second year teaching kindergarten and first grade with OVCA. Kayla enjoys traveling, swimming, and learning new things.

received her bachelor’s from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK.  She taught Special Education for 14 years in brick and mortar schools in Arkansas, Kansas, and Oklahoma.  She went back to school in 2012 for her master’s in elementary education and graduated from Jones International University in 2014.  She taught third grade at OVCA last year and is excited about the new adventures this year will bring to both her and the third grade students. Mrs. Ratzloff loves math.  She lives in Wagoner with her husband, Patrick, and grandson, Dakota. In her spare time she loves to travel, read, and do various craft projects.

Aleshia Montgomery
went to Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA.  She taught in WA for 2 years, middle school and kindergarten.  Then she joined the Navy for 3 years.  That brought her to Oklahoma.  Aleshia taught Kindergarten in Moore for 2 years, 5th grade and then 1st grade.  She substitute taught in Edmond where she was given the opportunity to work as a long term sub in a Special Education classroom.  She then taught in Guthrie for a year in Pre-K.  Aleshia has been with OVCA going on 5 years now.  The first year she taught a little in each school, then she taught middle school for two years and now she is back to working with Early Childhood students as a special education teacher.  Aleshia and her husband began raising sheep last year and they have 7 dogs.

Kelley Winsett
received her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University in 2000 and earned her Master's degree in Educational Leadership from OSU in 2003. This will be her 17th year of teaching, teaching grades from 1st to 4th grade. This will be her 2nd year to teach at OVCA teaching 2nd grade. She has been married to Luke for almost 15 years and has 3 boys Grey is 11, Rawley is 9, and Nash is 6. Her family lives in Altus and farm cotton, wheat, and cattle.

Rebecca lives southeast of Norman on her small hobby farm. Abby Bown
graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2012 with her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She later earned her Master’s degree in 2016 from the University of Oklahoma in Special Education. This is her fifth year in education, and she has experience teaching 5th grade and Special Education in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Houston, Texas. She currently lives in Enid, Oklahoma.  graduated from Lebanon Valley College in 2001 with a B.S. in Music Education and a B.A. in Music with a flute performance concentration. She also holds a Master of Music Education degree. She has taught in Alaska, Pennsylvania, and Oklahoma. She teaches private instrument lessons and is a teaching artist for the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa. Erin resides in Tulsa with her husband, Ted, and their two children, Madison and Mason. They are also expecting baby Evelyn this October! This is Erin’s 4th year with OVCA, and she teaches music and art for the middle school.

 is a 2006 and 2007 graduate of the University of Arkansas receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Middle Level Education and Master’s degree in Teaching. She taught 6th and 7th grade math for 6 years in Louisiana before relocating to Oklahoma where she has taught math, language arts, and history for 4 years. This will be her 11th year in education, and her fourth with OVCA! She is teaching 6th grade history and Financial Math.

is the 7th grade Science teacher. She has a passion for changing her students’ views of the world through Science! Mrs. Cottrell received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Phoenix in 2011. She began her teaching career in 2012; teaching second and fifth grades. She is highly qualified in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Science and English. She will graduate with her Master of Education in 2017 from the American College of Education. She has three lovely children: Addi (5), Owen (2), and Nathan (1).

In 2002 she received her B.A. in Sociology/Criminology from the University of Oklahoma. Trina has taught Middle School Pre-AP English, Life Science, Earth Science, Computer Applications, and High School Computer Tech. She is currently the 7th grade Homeroom Teacher at OVCA.

Allison McCartney
graduated from Oklahoma State University in May 2009 with her master's in Mass Communication. Allison worked in public relations for two years before teaching and is certified in math and English. She taught five years in Putnam City and Edmond schools before coming to OVCA where she is in her 2nd year teaching 8th grade English. She has taught anywhere from 6th grade Math to 12th grade AP English and was also a newspaper advisor. She is currently working on her PHD and also gives softball lessons. In her free time she loves reading, watching movies, spending time with her family and friends, playing sports, traveling and attending all OSU sporting events. Go Pokes!

has a Master of Arts degree in German from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. He is certified by the State of Oklahoma to teach German, French, Spanish, English, ESL, Special Education, Mathematics, Art, and History. Randall’s professional experience includes information systems analysis for large corporations in the U.S.A. and Europe. He has taught many subjects at schools throughout Oklahoma.  graduated from East Central University in 2008 with an Elementary degree. She then studied Spanish abroad in Costa Rica for a year and graduated from El Instituto de Lengua Espanola in 2009, adding a Spanish Education concentration to her teaching license. She taught 2nd grade for four years in Putnam City Schools and Piedmont Schools.  She’s been teaching for OVCA Middle School since 2014 and currently teaches Spanish and PE.

She was the Permanent Substitute at Catoosa JW Sam Elementary and then taught first grade. She has been with OVCA since 2011 and teaches 7th grade Geography. She became a Certified Academic Language Therapist in September on 2016 to help people with Dyslexia.

graduated from Northeastern University in 2001 with a B.S. in Elementary Education with a math emphasis and again in 2011 with a Masters in Middle School Math Education. She has taught 12 years, mostly middle school 5th–8th and either Special Education and/or math. She is certified in math through Alg I/Geometry, elementary education grades 1–8, and Special Education Mild Moderate Pre-K thru 12. Lora resides in Muskogee with her husband, Paul. She has 2 children, Bekah and Jakeb, and 4 grandchildren Vander, Jaxon, Meadow, Avalon, and Grandbaby #5 due this Fall. This is her second year with OVCA.

She graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in May of 2012 with a B.A. in English and received her alternative teaching certification in Middle Level English that same summer. Mrs. Jackson previously worked in the oil and gas industry before returning to college to follow her dream of being a teacher. Before coming to OVCA, she taught 7th grade English Language Arts and Pre-AP English Language Arts for Mid-Del Public Schools for four years.

 graduated from Oklahoma State with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Middle School Social Studies and a master’s degree in Teaching and Educational Leadership. This is her seventh year with OVCA. Before coming to the virtual world she taught 22 years in the public schools of Oklahoma, the last 19 years of that in Stillwater Public Schools. She lives in Stillwater and has one daughter who is married and lives with her husband in Texas. A few of her favorite things are pizza, Dr. Pepper, her dog Jax, and her family. She am an avid follower of almost every sport; especially anything involving OSU.

Karleena Riggs
is the middle school portfolio teacher at OVCA. She previously taught in Tulsa Public Schools for two years and at OVCA for 8 months before she left for a year to attend graduate school. She came back to OVCA in 2016 and loves it! She is originally from Tulsa but has previously lived in Boston, Nashville, and Prague. Her biggest passions are theater and her dog Gus. is the High School Lead Teacher. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2008. She also earned her Master of Education Degree with Honors in Mathematics Education in 2013 and a Principal Certification in 2016 from Northeastern State University. She previously taught in Oklahoma City and has been at OVCA since 2012. She has taught all math courses ranging from Pre-Algebra through Calculus. graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern Nazarene University in 1995 with a BS in Elementary Education. She has since continued studies in specific subject areas to obtain endorsements in upper level subject areas and begun work on a master's degree program at Walden University. She has experience as a middle school classroom teacher in brick and mortar as well as almost eight years teaching K–12 grade students online for a national educational service company. Karla has lived in many areas in Oklahoma during her own school years. She and her family currently live on the western side of the OKC metro area. She has two sons, the oldest of whom is a 2015 OVCA HS graduate. She is a flute player and an avid reader, when she has free time. Karla loves to travel with her family and has visited most of Oklahoma's 77 counties, enjoying the diversity of geography that is uniquely Oklahoman. Karla originally joined the OVCA staff as a family support specialist in 2015 and is now teaching high school World History for OVCA.

She earned her Masters of Special Education from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2000. is proud to be a part of Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy and believes in the concept of public school from home. Lori started with OVCA in 2009 as a registrar, transitioned to Operations Manager, and finally as a High School Advisor and Family Support Liaison. Before OVCA, she worked in nursing and for a local school. She has working in the education field for 17 years. She lives on a farm in a small community in Northeast Oklahoma where they raise cattle, horses, laying chickens, and Australian Shepard Stock Dogs. She enjoys working with students and families to help make online High School a positive education experience.

She enrolled her first child into K12 in August of 2009, when the school was still known as OKVA. She added the others when they were old enough for school. Tina received her Masters in Reading from Grand Canyon University and is a Certified Reading Specialist. She spent her first 19 years in education at Ripley Elementary teaching math and reading intervention; fourth grade; first grade; and as a reading coach. Tina taught elementary with OVCA last year, but is excited to transition and work on the FASTeam as a Community Family Advisor this school year. She lives in Perkins with her husband, Ron, and daughter, Elora. In her spare time she enjoys photography, scrapbooking, traveling, and spending time with her family!

She has over 20 years of Social Services experience and has worked as a Children's Counselor in a brick and mortar school but loves the experience of virtual school (more students to empower!) She attended ORU and has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and attended SNU where she received a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Having been a Special Education student with multiple learning challenges she is passionate about directing others to their educational success. She has 2 sons that play competitive sports, her youngest plays tackle football and AAU Basketball. Her oldest son plays AAU basketball. She has a dog rescued from the animal shelter and he is a Bichon Mix named Champion. She has a love for fashion and make up and she enjoys hiking, Boot Camp, Zumba, Kick Boxing, TRX/Cross fit or any workout that challenges her for stress relief and peace of mind.

came to the OVCA team in July of 2015 as the High School (9–12) registrar. She has since been promoted to be the Truancy Officer for both OVCA & ISOK part-time and the ISOK Encumbrance Clerk part-time. She is a native to Tennessee, and moved to Oklahoma after meeting her husband, she then started a family here. She has two beautiful children, Callie and Hunter. Rhonda enjoys spending time with her family and making trips home to Tennessee as often as she can. Although she is not a native of Oklahoma, Rhonda is a big Sooner fan, yet she still likes to show her pride and is a Tennessee Volunteer at heart.

is the Encumbrance Clerk for OVCA since July of 2014. Sondra was born in Indiana and moved to Oklahoma when she was a teenager. She has been married to her husband Chad for 19 years. Sondra received her Associates degree in Liberal Arts from Rose State College and her Bachelor’s degree from Southern Nazarene University in Organizational Leadership. She is pursuing her MBA from Southern Nazarene University and should graduate in June 2018. She enjoys spending time with her family, attending all Oklahoma Sooners (Boomer Sooner!) football games, watching the OKC Thunder, loves watching HGTV and Food network, volunteering at her church, and scrap booking.
